Merchants
Nothing changes at your terminal.
Depozit is a standard Visa Platinum card. You take it, you place your usual hold, and the authorization behaves exactly as any other Visa Platinum authorization does.
What you do not have to do
No integration
Nothing to build, nothing to install, nothing to configure.
No new terminal
Your existing acquiring setup takes the card as it stands.
No agreement with us
There is no contract between you and Depozit, and none is needed.
No fee to you
We do not charge merchants anything for accepting the card.
No change to your hold policy
Place the hold you would normally place, for the amount you would normally place.
No change to capture
If you have a valid claim, you capture as normal.
What is different, and where
The difference sits behind the card: the guarantee comes from us rather than from the cardholder's salary or a cash deposit.
If you capture on a valid claim, our retained legal panel reviews it and settles valid claims. A claim we consider invalid is answered through Visa's own dispute channels — the same route you would use with any other issuer.
The one operational limit worth knowing
The facility stands behind 90% of a hold to a KD 500 ceiling. An authorization above KD 500 is declined at the terminal rather than partially approved, so a property whose standard hold exceeds that will see a decline rather than a short authorization.
Merchant enquiry
Tell us the property and the hold amounts you normally place, and we will tell you plainly whether this works at your desk.
Registration with the Central Bank of Kuwait is in progress. We are not yet authorised to issue cards.
Our four-contract structure has been submitted to an independent Sharia Supervisory Board for ruling.
BIN sponsorship is under negotiation with a Visa principal member.
Depozit does not offer credit. There is no credit line, no revolving balance, and no interest charged or paid on any part of this product. The guarantee covers 90% of the KD 500 ceiling; the remaining KD 50 is the cardholder's own responsibility.
