Depozit is a Kuwaiti financial technology company. We are building a guarantee-backed Visa Platinum card for people that the deposit system currently shuts out.
Why this product exists
A deposit is a solved problem if you already have money or a salary in the right bank. If you do not, the two available routes are KD 300–KD 500 in cash or a credit product you may not want and may not qualify for.
A guarantee is the third route. It is not new — commercial guarantees are ordinary — but nobody had built one for a cardholder at a hotel desk, priced flat, and structured so that it can be offered without interest.
Registration with the Central Bank of Kuwait is in progress. We are not yet authorised to issue cards.
Our four-contract structure has been submitted to an independent Sharia Supervisory Board for ruling.
BIN sponsorship is under negotiation with a Visa principal member.
Depozit does not offer credit. There is no credit line, no revolving balance, and no interest charged or paid on any part of this product. The guarantee covers 90% of the KD 500 ceiling; the remaining KD 50 is the cardholder's own responsibility.
